Welcoming Week 2025

This September, our Hampton community will come together to find common ground with our neighbours, seek similarities within our different cultures and perspectives, and deepen our commitments to building a stronger and more resilient Hampton.  

We are much stronger when we embrace our similarities and differences, and the members of our community will do just that by sharing food, music, art, conversation, and more throughout the week. 

While this week provides an opportunity to pause, reflect, and plan for the next phase of welcoming work in Hampton, our community prioritizes a spirit of welcoming year-round. Welcoming is a core part of who we are and who we have always been, and Hampton will continue to choose connection, courage, and love over division, fear, and hate.  

Now, therefore, I, Mayor Robert Doucet, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of Hampton, do hereby proclaim the week of September 12-21, 2025, Welcoming Week. I call upon the people of Hampton to join together to build stronger communities across Hampton.
