Hampton’s 2027 Budget Meetings
Each year, Hampton develops an annual municipal budget, and a 5-year capital forecast to ensure effective delivery of services such as garbage collection, road maintenance, snow removal, wastewater treatment, water treatment, recreation facilities and programming, parks and trails, building inspection, bylaw enforcement, municipal communications, economic development & tourism, protective services such as police and fire departments, and shared regional services. Providing these services is an important part of the Town’s role and is essential to creating a safe, sustainable and vibrant community where all residents can thrive.
Residents are invited to attend and observe the upcoming series of budget meetings to learn about the budget, current cost drivers, and opportunities and plans for the coming year. These meetings, like all Council and Committee meetings, are open to public observation and we welcome your attendance.
Budget Meetings Schedule & Topics:
- October 6th at 6PM: BORROWING (Long-term Debt & Debentures) AND CURRENT TAX RATES
- October 19th at 6PM: OPERATIONAL BUDGET (day-to-day service delivery costs)
- November (date TBD upon receipt of GNB rates): CAPITAL ENHANCEMENTS (new needs or service delivery enhancements separate from day-to-day operating budget)
- November (date TBD upon receipt of GNB rates): PRESENTATION OF COMPLETED BUDGET for approval
