SUMMARY:Usher Syndrome Awareness Day
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of Hampton Council\, we would like to recognize Usher Syndrome Awareness Day on September 20th. \n\n\n\nUsher Syndrome (USH) is a rare inherited condition that impacts three major senses in the body—vision\, hearing\, and balance. It is the most common genetic cause of combined deafness and blindness\, yet many people are unaware of it. There is currently no cure\, but awareness and community support are essential to driving research\, treatment\, and hope for those living with USH. \n\n\n\nIn 2015\, the Usher Syndrome Coalition – the only organization in the world working to find and support every individual and family living with USH – declared the third Saturday in September as Usher Syndrome Awareness Day. This date falls near the autumnal equinox in the northern hemisphere\, when days begin to hold more darkness than light—a powerful symbol for the vision loss caused by the condition. \n\n\n\nThis year\, the CN Tower will once again be lit in yellow and blue\, the colours of the Usher Syndrome Coalition\, on September 20\, 2025\, to mark this important day. \n\n\n\nTo learn more\, visit www.usher-syndrome.org
